This is true, without a doubt:
That which is below corresponds to that which is above, and that which is above matches that below, to do the miracles of the One Thing.
And as all things come from the meditation of the One, so must they through adaptation.

Its father is the sun, its mother the moon, the wind carried it in its belly, and its nurse is the earth.
The progenitor to all is here. Its power becomes perfect if it becomes earth.
Separate the earth from fire, the subtle from the gross, gently and with skill.
It rises to the heavens and descends to the earth, extracting the attributes of Above and Below.

Thus you will obtain the Glory of the World. All obscurity will be gone.
This power is the greatest, because it conquers all that is subtle, and penetrates all that is solid.

This was the way the world was created. From this came the application thereof.
Therefore I am called Hermes the Thrice Great, for I have the three parts of the wisdom of the Universe.
With this, I have explained the Operation of the Sun.
