[473] Clash: Exhaustive Victory

Figured it was best to show who actually survived the longest out of those two, so there is actually an ending to the battle rather than a cop out 'they beat each other at once'.

With the comicbook challenge coming closer, Jayfri and I have been coming up with a more serious version of WotN. A little darker, but it's the same characters and a little more at the DC/Marvel grade level. There's also a sci-fi type comic we have in the works, sort of based on the comic I tried to do last year with Rokas and a few others.

But then I thought 'What sort of things normally win?' just to get a clue of how to win. This lead me to realise that the best shot I had was to do a traditional style comic with superheroes and stuff.

In truth, I don't like doing this sort of thing. The comics I have are filled with selfish anti-heroes who are the embodiments of humanity's quest for improvement gone wrong. Hell, the underlying message of WotN is 'things can go wrong when humanity tries to play God'. That, along with the fact I need to fly to San Diego in the middle of a school term to present a comic at what would be 3 in the morning where I live and it would cost me over $3000 to fly there and back while only getting $650 for my trouble. And if they pay page rates (Which I think I read somewhere that they do) it'd be normally $50 per page, and I'm only taking $20 of that, so in total, I'd have to do six issues just to break even.

So, I've been looking around and I've come to two choices. Either Dark Horse comics or Image, as they accept original series… but I'm more gravitating towards Dark Horse and Image is a back up, really. Then, if neither of them like the works, then I'll look around at the Australian publishers. I would normally go to these guys first, but they seem to only do B/W stuff and print them rather poorly.

Oh, and they accept mere comic scripts and if they like the scripts well enough, they get you an artist, so I might finally be able to do a Fatum Chronicles graphic novel.

Wish me luck

Until next time
