Really, who the hell names their son "John"?

Gah, I almost forgot to post this up. When I actually finished it yesterday, the site was being a bit weird, and I couldn't even sign in, so I thought, "screw it."

Anyway… you might notice a slight hair change. Instead of spining back like Sonic, Ace's hair now sticks up like Vegeta's. This isn't some sort of intentional DBZ thing, I just think it looks better this way.

Besides, it's more of an homage to Elite Four member and Pokemon Champion Lance. But who would guess, really?

Anyway, his hair isn't really meant to be either, it was just kinduva random style decision. I wanted Ace to stand out, I wanted him to look a bit out-of-place.

Though I think it looks more creepy than cool. I don't know what to think about that.

Anyway, I'm under the impression that his jacket is not leather, but rather suede. Or perhaps pseudo-suede.

As for his name - I originally had no idea what to name Ace. I actually decided to use a name generator, from which I got "Ace Spade." It was perfect.

Too perfect.

The Ace of Spades is, when using playing cards like the Tarot, more-or-less equivalent to the Death card. Now, obviously the Death in Tarot doesn't necessarily mean DEATH, but it was a really good symbol, one which I couldn't pass up.

But, it was too on the nose. So I made his surname Black. Bet you weren't expecting that, huh?
