So, what are you taking/giving up or doing more/less of in 2011 and what are you expecting for the upcoming year?

I'm planning on getting up early so I can get more college work done per day and take up a new sport. Dunno how I could do both, but I'll try it!

And am I the only person in the UK that thinks that this year's fireworks were more elaborate and awesome in London than new year '99?

I'm heavily expecting people to talk this year about "It's nearly 10 years since 9/11!". I sure expected it five years ago. Hell, you know what the guy on TV said instead of "Happy 2011"?

We haven't even stopped talking about it since it happened. I don't mean to offend anyone. It's just what I've heard.

I'm also expecting my 22nd birthday to be overshadowed by the rantings of my dad regarding the wedding of Kate and Wills. No doubt it'll be all over the TV for the whole week.

On a positive note, I'm expecting a much happier year overall… Better than 2010 at least…

Anyway:

HAPPY

NEW

YEAR!

My only real goals are to get straight A's for once (I'm always short by like, a B or two and it's driving me nuts), and finish a page a day of my comic. I managed 315 this year, short of my 365 goal. Oh well, I tried.

Unrealistic goal: begin work on Le Farce Babies

sorry kids, won't happen

Unrealistic:
3. Stop being a gaiafag

It constantly surprises me that Gaia is still around.

My goals:

-Have my first shower of 2011! …I dunno, I might fail this one :( Going for it now, wish me luck!

-Get to San Diego Comic Con and have an awesome exhibit complete with a real life Pinky.

-Not blow too much money on said trip to the US and the Comic Con.

-Beat the 4 week barrier in comic page production! I can get it down to 3, I just KNOW it!

Well, the only goal i'm focusing on now is to finish off my National Service so I can concentrate on my comic. Other than that:

1- Go to Japan. (Specifically Tokyo, Kyoto and Hokkaido)
2- Pass my driving lisence before the year ends
3- pass my JLPT so I can study in Japan
4- get rich (or at least enough to buy my own house)
5- get hitched
6- live happily ever after.

Although I know 4,5 and 6 would most likely not happen anytime soon… >_>

Happy New Year everybody! \^_^/

Right…

1) Finish Coilstar Illustrated #2
2) Draw a b&w graphic novel that's 150-200 pages long

These two I'd say are fairly realistic… and with these two completed the third one will be done too.

3) Draw and complete more comics pages than in 2008 (130 or more).

Further goals?

hmm…

4) Publish three books/comics.
5) Expand my comics collection.
6a) Find a job that doesn't interfere with my comics creation too much (part time job?)
or
6b) Find a way to earn about 500$ a month from my comics (enough to pay my share of rent, buy food and other daily needs, art supplies… and still have some pocket change left for comics and things)

EDIT:

Ohh yeah, forgot one more…

START LEARNING FRENCH SO I CAN READ THE FRENCH STUFF WITHOUT WORRYING SO MUCH ABOUT WAITING FOR POLISH/ENGLISH EDITIIONS! :D

Gonna put pen to tablet and draw. That about wraps up 2011.

A big goal is to get down to a sub 200 weight, or below 15% bodyfat. I'm also working on getting my 3-mile time down below 23 minutes.

I've got a few short stories I've been working on since last summer that I want to tie up. There is a slightly more ambitious comic story I really want to do this year, but I need written consent from some guys before I can go ahead with it.

here here on 3 mile times Dave. Mine's currently sitting at 23:30 average.

1. Run the Omaha Olympic Distance Triathlon.
2. get 2 of the following by years end:
12 Pullups
68 pushups
21:00 3 mile
30:00 1500m swim.

i would prefer the run and the pullups, because the other 2 are easier to work on.

1. Gain weight.
2. Actually update my stuff.
3. Stop doing things ironically.

I've already failed number 3.

Running made my resolution list as well!

Maybe we could all form a "cross-country" running group. ;)

Maybe I should take up leaving my face alone?

Because I've just pulled out about half of my eyebrow hairs on each side…

Unevenly…

Now I'm hoping that they grow back in time for college before everybody thinks I've done it while drunk.

I didn't. I was watching Rich Hall on the BBC IPlayer with my dad. Half of them fell out anyway because they're the only visible hair on my body that falls out with a light breeze. I thought I was evening them out and ended up lop sided the other way. Just more proof that I shouldn't take the advice of people and "Groom" them.

3. Stop being a gaiafag
Yeah…that one too. (Though I really enjoy the roleplaying and haven't found any equivalent more suited for my age group)

DD rules. (And I'm not just saying this because I'm a mod)

I don't think Gaia's that bad really so long as you avoid general discussion and join a guild. That and I don't wanna leave since I ain't giving ANYBODY my gear from 2004!

And my outfits are too awesome. I have mecha legs and gloves that flip the bird in certain preset positions.

I'm beginning to like the comic creators forum there, some of the regs are so funny. I also go to GCD which I've found isn't as trashy as a lot of other forums. (life issues/GD)

The worst part about Gaia is those weirdass looking avatars you create for your characters. I see them pop up occasionally and my reaction is always "ugh, what stupid game is this from." Once I remember, it makes total sense.

No resolutions except just live and enjoy each moment as it comes.

I don't have any unrealisitic expectations anymore just because I changed my wall calendar.

Well, I DID join in 2004 (Back when I wasn't aware of "Internet Etiquette" ). And all I keep getting when I mention it to people on there is "CAN I HAVE UR STUFF WEN U LEEV PLZ!".

It was better in '04, though. But I still like taking part in special events. I dunno HOW many 2007 Jack Grab Bags I have…
