Weeeeeell…technically, I've been a member on here for a while. In the past, this was my secondary back-up host for my webcomic, but more recently, it's become my primary secondary, lol. But anyways, I figure I've been a lurker for long enough, and I might as well get out there and meet some people~! I've been trying to get myself more involved with the webcomic world, but so far, it's mainly been at anime conventions, talking with other webcomic artists and other people who follow them. Man do I feel out of the loop~! @_@

So, please be nice ^.-

My real question is, what's good right now? What artists are popular? Things like that. Of course, these are also opinionated questions…the genres I like are things like fantasy and mystery. I'm big into Japanese manga and anime, but I have no qualms with other things. Also, I have nothing against either guy/guy or gal/gal, though I'd prefer they to be clean cut…

But from now on, I intend to get my feet wet and start sticking my nose into other people's business on here, fufu~!

No.

I'm big into Japanese manga and anime,

You didn't need to bother mentioning this. It'd be more unusual if you weren't.

Also, I'm afraid (well, not really) that both I and Amanda both have to hate you for your use of the 'word' y'all. Amanda may be nice about it. I won't.

*twitch* Yes, the word bugs me a bit (*cough cough* y'all *cough cough*), but that could be a side effect of living in Texas and never developing the accent. ^.~

Though a hearty hello and welcome to the forums, regardless! As far as what's good/popular…I notice that those don't always go hand-in-hand around here. A good place to start looking for delicious new comics to read would probably be HERE - we just had a big awards shindig, so you can browse around for some good ones.

Also, a comic that didn't get a nod in the awards but I think you might like is Little Bat Koku.

Have fun!

Welcome, Would You Like A Cold Hot Cola?

Welcome! Glad you decided to jump headfirst into that scary pool of Drunk Duck we call the "forums". Don't mind Custard, he gets all sad and moody without getting into a confrontation in the morning. :)

As Amanda wisely directed you, the DD Awards would be a good place to read some sparkling comics, and be sure to check out the nominees as well! They are all really great!

But I personally think the best way to find comics is the old-fashioned way. Which, of course, means randomly. Just try some and see what you like; I can promise you that we've got something to whet your comic-hungry appetite. :)

Hahah, well, thanks everyone. I'll go try looking around then on my own and see what I can find. I've already found a couple that way through other sites, and so far, I haven't been disappointed ^^

Welcome, I random look over the comics listed on the home page, and then look at the list of recommended comics by those creators, some of which have already welcomed you :) Manga and Anime are fun for any age and liking them is a clear indication of high intelligence! From now on we should call him (?) Custard YALL Trout….

Haha, but it's not just people my age…I'm 20, and I know plenty of people younger (of course) and even many people much older than me into anime. Heck, my own mother is into it ^^;

Ugh, now my feet are wet…gotta go change my socks..>.>

Custard YALL Trout…? XD

Ha, whenever someone says they're going to "stick their nose" into something, I always take it literally and image them pecking. <_<

Welcome to DD. Looking for something good? It shouldn't be too hard… especially by the way the site's set up and its community.

Pfffft, y'all. It can't be helped. There's not a lot of words for plural "you".

Technically, around here (Midwest) we usually say "you guys" and rarely "you all" but my English is sooo horrible, that I tend to say y'all all the time…I can understand how it would be annoying though. I like to write how I speak though. That way, my writing is a bit more…comprehensible? Wait, that would make it the opposite…hm…

But, whatever that case is, I appreciate all the warm welcomes! And I don't intend to peck anyone Xd
