Comic Talk and General Discussion *

oh no.

That's probably one of the saddest things I've ever read… ; ;. And I've read quite a few sad things recently. The economy is killing everyone, and the entertainment industry is the first to go. People are going to buy milk and eggs before they pick up comic books.

I hope the economy bounces back soon…

I very seriously doubt that the only reason for that is the economy.

I predicted that platinum were on the ropes in a recent discussion: It gives me no satisfaction to be proved right.

Well, not about the platinum part. The being right part… maybe!

I'm certain it isn't just the economy, but I doubt that it is helping anything.

It probably isn't, but 99% of Platinum's problems seem to be Platinum.

Nat Gerteler's Comment is funny

So I told my wife about this. I said “They’re paying people minimum wage and stock.”

And it was morning, so words were taking a while to seep in. “Stock?” she asked. Then a pause. “Oh, *company stock.*”

“No,” I said, in morning sarcasm. “They’re paying people in beef stock.”

She glowered.

“I know a guy who used to get paid in beef stock,” I continued. “Now he’s a *bullionaire*!”

————–

Despite things like that, I suspect my marriage will outlast this company.

Still better than working at McDonald's.

Wait… free hamburgers. Never mind.

Free McDonald's hamburgers? I'm not so sure. ;) I'm just hoping the Duck and its community will live on.

giving people platinum stocks is like forking over all the loose change and lint you could find in your pocket, man cannot live on lint.

But what if you came across a half-melted mint? Then you've just hit the jackpot!
