Okay, I get it! My bloated crazy-ass comic is hard to follow. Fine. What can I say, it's super-long, it's not entirely linear, it's got a bunch of simultaneously ongoing plot threads, and most of the characters are insane so you can't exactly follow their motivations sometimes. On top of that, many scenes which would have clarified plot points have either been truncated or completely removed for various reasons. There are plenty of opportunities for you to lose your bearings.

So that's why I made this thread. If you want to know something, ANYTHING, about the comic, or the characters, or the backstory, just post your question here and I'll answer it as best I can. Or if you just had a comment or wanted to complain about something, I guess that's cool too.

You mean the jogger? She's dead. That wasn't even a real question, was it!

Well yeah, she's dead. She was shot in the mouth on Page 7 and her corpse was last seen in the trunk of Otis and Earl's police vehicle on Page 132, being transported to God-knows-where. Earl had earlier stated his intent to find a wooded area and dig some "cracker holes." We'll see what they're up to in the next chapter.

Because arrows are an admission of failure.

They're also an admission that you have a small penis. I don't have a small penis. So using arrows would be lying. You wouldn't want me to lie to my throngs of devoted readers now would you?

And how cum yours violence is so funny n' colorful looking now, -compared to what you use ta do years ago? Are you no longer grim?
You mean, like in Sex X Candy? Well, that comic took place at night, and also I was a much crappier illustrator back then. My comics have always been a lighthearted take on severely demented subject matter, but I prefer the more colorful look. It glosses over the general fucked-uppedness of what's going on in the comic.

I'll probably try to check in on this place at least once a day.

And yes, I am a slacker. Big time.

Behind the scenes, Scoob's been caught up in a steamy romance with Bobo the Dolphin from The Big Fish Story. Yep, that's one more reason to hate dolphins, the smug bastards, they always get the girl. No wonder they're always smiling!

if Scuba Ninja dies as a consolation can Carmen and Angie make a Jerrie Sandwich?
Ooh, careful what'cha wish for, chief! All things considered, those two are likely to take that proposition a bit more literally than you might like! Sliced Jerrie meat on honey oat with spicy mustard, yum yum!

What am I, some kinda pimp?

Oh right, I am, aren't I…

Awesome!

Bah, nobody's creative with their suicides anymore! My take on suicides is pretty much my take on everything else in life: If you can't do it with explosives, then it ain't worth doing!

Glad you like the animations, Max! No, I don't have After Effects or anything nearly that snazzy. I do these the caveman way: I render a sequence of images and then assemble them into a GIF. The reason they look all choppy is because I use as few frames as possible to keep the size of the GIF down. Even a couple seconds at a decent "smooth" frame rate can easily create a 5-plus megabyte file, which just won't do.

As for money shots, well, that's more involved than anything I've had time to fiddle with as of yet, but I might try a fluid animation experiment for my next little mini project.

I think I have the facilities to make a gif animation.
I really got to make an honest attempt to render one. Can't really be all that hard or complex to do, especially with my background in film.

Just alittle confused by what I see when I load up your gif into my Fireworks program.
What program did you use to create the images, and then to assemble the gif with??

@ "jerrie": A serious response to your inquiry.
I don't know anything of your background, but if your wanting to chase down a good book on creating 3d art,.. its really (to me) more along the lines of what computer program can you manage… or afford to obtain.

I've had "DAZ STUDIO" which I downloaded for free from their site sources. Good info and tutorials did come with it in the text files that they provide.
If I wasn't such "a slacker" myself, and broke poor these days to afford other articles to further inspire me, I'd have some understanding of manipulating and mastery of the program.
You will not find books on "DAZ STUDIO" neither in retail bookstores, magazine publications or in free library. DAZ is in its own little niche of the 3d modeling market.
I actually, seriously, recommend that you try "DAZ STUDIO", download it to your computer, set it up, and heartily start reading the text file tutorials to know more about 3d model, and towards manipulating that program.
When you know the basics, you can just about navigate any other 3d modeling program.

Now,… this is just to start you off with the basics.
Did you want to know about 3d model construction from wire framing, jointing and to skinning??
I'll have to get back to you on that with a book title I know of.
Hey,.. you're online. Try Googling: "3d modeling" or "3d art imaging".

And now for an "unserious" comment: I WISH EL CID WOULD ANSWER PEOPLE TO HIS OWN FORUM!! CHRIST, -HE"S SUCH A FUGGIN' SLACKER!!!

Sorry you guys, my computer was stolen yesterday in a burglary. I'm just now getting my laptop back up (and gawd, it's gonna be impossible to do any decent artwork on this new monitor!)

What program did you use to create the images, and then to assemble the gif with??
I assembled them using Adobe ImageReady, which came free with my version of Photoshop… which I purchased back in 2004… at which time it was already obsolete! I'm a dinosaur, I still use Photoshop 6.0! It's sad, I know!

You should check out the forums at DAZ3d.com. I'd pretty much recommend the same thing Max did: download a free copy of DAZ Studio, and the tons of free content they give you, and see if you're any good at it.

You should also give Genejoke a holler, as he's just getting started in 3d too and probably knows more of what's current than a 3d geezer like me!

Oh, and for anyone who's interested: I use Poser 5 (and also Poser 7 for some features, but usually avoid it because it's slow and buggy), and render using Carrara 5 Pro. All of the final pages are put together using Photoshop 6.0 and Illustrator 9.0.
