Fallopiancrusader's Goldmine of Technical Drawing Tutorials

If you have been on the forums over the last few months, you would notice that DrunkDuck's very own brilliant artist, fallopiancrusader, has been creating videos in which he demonstrates how he creates his illustrations on computer.

One type of art he has mastered is conceptual sketches using technical drawing. This is mostly used in technical designs when coming up with a concept sketch to show to a client. He also uses traditional painting techniques on a digital platform when drawing his comic, Mindfold.

We are very lucky to have fallopiancrusader on our site because he has the experience to be an instructor of sorts. There is a lot of innovative techniques we all can learn from watching his tutorials. He has a lot of advice to offer, like not spending more than four hours on a concept drawing that might be discarded in the design process.

Coloring a design presentation drawing
This is a 17 minute youtube video of me coloring a pen and ink line drawing in Photoshop. The visual style is similar to traditional comic books. I spend less time talking about specific techniques, and more about the thought process behind successful visual storytelling.

A 48-minute time-compressed video of me creating pages 74 and 75 of my comic, “Mindfold”, with commentary about the drawing techniques and composition choices that I used.

I watched these tutorials and they're fantastic. THIS can change an artist's life and make a difference to the community. I learned how to program (games) in UnrealScript thanks to people like Roland, posting fantastic videos online and sharing their knowledge with us. Much love!
