About

I'm a 14-year-old award-winning author, artist, and cartoonist. I'm the creator of The Chapel Chronicles, a line of comics and more starring a zany 11-year-old girl named Chapel Smith.
I've had 25 works of art and writing published in national magazines like Creative Kids, Stone Soup, and Skipping Stones. I won a Gold Medal in the 2011 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for my comic "Jam Days," along with a Merit Award from California for my poetry collection Postcard Dreams.
I'm homeschooled and I live in the Bay Area. I like fezzes, top hats, and tormenting my mom by playing the same song 50,000 times. My favorite writers and cartoonists are Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Eiichiro Oda, Patrick McDonnell, and Roz Chast. I miss the 10th Doctor.

This comic stars Chapel Smith, a zany girl created by 14-year-old author, artist, and cartoonist Emma T Capps. Chapel is 11 years old and has big red ponytails, granny glasses, and freakishly huge feet. She always wears a little black dress and has a lot of things to say, and you can get a peek into her brain by reading the thoughts that go around her head. Chapel plays games against her archenemy Fred, suffers through her chores, idolizes Lady Gaga, takes comfort in her pet hedgehog Rupert, and maybe even falls down the rabbit hole. ***Updates Fridays.
