About
I'm slowly mirroring the comic here on Drunk Duck. For the most recent comic and story visit the main site.
Little 2-minute video clip on YouTube of me giving a little history on me as an artist.
My name is Michelle Van Zandt. Im 34 years old and live in Florida in the United States of America. Ive been drawing for as long as I can remember. As I got older the frequency dropped drastically and I was like a kid again, relearning everything.
Ginpu.us is a website originally created to host forums for the group of guys I player MMOs with. After immersing myself in the world of webcomics, I decided I wanted to give a try at this magic.
On September 6th, 2006 I posted my first comic. Updates were a bit sporadic at first, but eventually I set myself up on a schedule of every Friday. There has always been something up on the scheduled date without fail. I feel its important to stick to the schedule even if what you put up isnt the comic. To me, having my comic up on time is a huge priority. There is always something up on the scheduled date. Rarely the comic is late on that date, so Id say I have a 99% on time rate. Something I am proud of.
Now, why is the artwork so crappy and constantly changing you ask? Well that is because this is a work in progress. Its growing with me as I re-master my drawing skills and learn new techniques. You should notice an improvement overall comparing the old comics to the new. I will never redraw the old comics because I want people to see my growth. I want them to see that I used to suck once upon a time. That I too was a beginner. Like any skill, if you dont practice it, you soon lose it.

There have been several comments and questions out there so I would like to make an attempt to answer them here.
Q: What does Ginpu mean?
A: Quite simply, it a combination of nicknames given to my late 19 year old kitty cat. She was with me since she was 4 weeks old and I was 13 years old. Her name was Virginia. Gin was a shortened version of that. My friend would call her Missy Pooh. I shortened Pooh to Pu. And voila! You now have Ginpu. RIP Ginny, June 24, 2009
Q: How do you pronounce Ginpu?
A: Ginpu is said Gin, like the alcohol (jin) poo.
Q: What made you want to start Ginpu?
A: What made me want to start it
life long dream backed by a supportive boyfriend. Supportive friends. Lots of things. When I was little I used to draw Sunday comics and give them to my parents. I recall one was about an ant and a bat. Feling and Antus. I cant recall the content though.
Q: Are all the names Japanese or of that origin?
A: No. Contrary to my better halfs words, not all these names are Japanese. Taka may be, but it just popped into my head when I drew him. Kit, its short for Kitriana. Morgan
its a name I love. It can be male or female. I made an ermine anthro in DnD and she is from that adventure.
Q: Wheres the Hentai?
A: Its not here. But if you would like, I most likely will have no problem finding a site with Hentai of Yiffing in it. I
