About
Born and raised in Virginia Beach Va. And been on and off of Drunkduck for about 9 or 10 years . Im 24 now. And i miss webcomic social networking. I was doing it before facebook myspace and twitter ever popped up…
Been into comics and cartoons since i was a lad.I taught myself how to draw when i was really young.maybe 5 or 6.I always had this thing where I'd think up something really elaborate, like a story, scenario, characters e.t.c. And If I couldnt draw it at the time, Id work on it until I could (alot of erasing, frustration and "how to draw" books). And im not ashamed to say that even now i read books and do alot of "how to" reasearch. Alot of artist are ashamed to admit they ever need help, or dont get it at all. I used to be one of them. But if it makes me a better artist, why deny it?
Ive always wanted to make a career out of comicbooks. I currently attend Virginia State University, where i major in Fine arts.I think college is great for networking and exposure, But its a bit of a scam if you dont know what youre in for. The learning and skill building has to come from you first. you have to be willing to learn even if it means self teaching.
The ability to create always amazed me. Being able to create a character like Luke Skywalker or Batman from your mind, and have people talk about them and their world like its reality is incredible to me. I was completely entrapped in cartoons as a kid.Even more so than comics. But the expressions in comicbooks are something an animated show could never catch. Its like a moment frozen in time. And ever since I attempted my first comic, Ive been trying to master that moment.Ive always felt like I had endless capabilities with a pencil. I could do anything.Get grounded? cool, i'll draw my way somewhere else. It was the ultimate solution.I didn't need an expensive computer or anything extra. just a pencil and a piece of paper. I didn't have alot growing up, but i had that. That's all i needed..And i feel like that 5 year old kid every time i pick up my pencil to draw. Utopia…
