About
Hi there,
I'm Meemjar, which is a play on my penname and alias, Emjar.
I've cartooned all my life since I could pick up a pencil. My comic has been a labour of love since I was seven and I've been fine-tooning it since.
I grew up with POPEYE cartoons and Jonny Quest on TV and wanted to do my own cartoon. I was torn between doing a Comedy like Popeye or an Action/Adventure like Jonny Quest and settled for a middle ground, and the seeds of Smorty Smythe were sown.
Over the years other influences fleshed out my work.
Basil Wolverton of Powerhouse Pepper, Chester Gould of Dick Tracey, Bill Ward and his sexy telephone girls and the European artists like Herge creator of Tintin and Albert Uderzo of Asterix fame. Not to mention a certain degree of Manga influence.
As for myself, I like classic comedy, (Abbott & Costello, the 3 Stooges, Laurel & Hardy) Classic Horror (Boris Karloff, Vincent Price)
Science Fiction, Martial Arts (good & bad) and Comic book adaptations.
I love Anime like Robotech and the fearlessly politically incorrect comedy of FAMILY GUY.
And I want my work to measure up!

Adult oriented comix. 1300 pages? WTF? It's only some pictures of naked/scantily clad women, some "one of" stories, jokes, etc, from my gallery of old sketches & stuff. Rated for adults, so that I don't have to censor myself. Hope folks do not see the 1300+ pages and get scared off. Any one can jump right in pretty much at the chapter/story breaks. Read or ignore the older stuff as they fit.
