My first idea for 24ghost went an entirely different way, but it was about a ghost and a junkie. The girl could only see the ghost as long as she kept snorting coke. And the ghost was still living with his ex-girlfriend as if he wasn't dead. It was meant to be funny, but it was also depressing and the junkie was kind of annoying after a while. Then I remembered Trevor the Emo Vampire, a character my ex and I had made up to laugh at a friend of his… And started the whole thing over : ) It came out so much funnier.
