Hey, they're the most powerful company in the world! They're supposed to protect themselves!
You know, the world was only slightly different before the financial crisis. Sure, for the average joe it's way more difficult to find a job. But to me it seems my generation was conditioned from the get-go to believe that getting a job would (a) be hard to do and that (b) there was no hope of holding on to one job for too long. This generation is expected to surrender everything - family, home, personal interests - in favor of the job. I started working on A.D 1997 way back in 2000, and even Bombshell, my decidedly more paramilitaristic take on the anti-corporate Zeitgeist, was launched some months before people started using the term "financial crisis" to describe the present developments.
This may just be a long-winded way of telling you: Hey folks, I told ya so. If you'd only listened to me. But hey, if you're reading this, then I guess you're the wrong person to complain to! So, thanks for reading :P
(Weekly updates don't seem to work out very well these days… sorry!)
P.S.: Fun fact: Polyphemus first appeared on ep. 2, page 7.
