Again there were a pile of last minute changes. One of Diamorian speeches was too preachy about gender identity, so it was abandoned. Instead she talks about identity. Notice that the first two prototypes had whites in their eyes. That is what the Diamorian is referring to with "monochromatic eyes" Blank, black eyes would remove another layer of identity from the Generic Autonomous Laborer.

And before you go screaming "transphobic" this is a more technologically advanced culture with a far greater understanding of human physiology, genetics and brain mapping and all kinds of other stuff. All the causes of gender dysphoria or discomfort between biological sex and gender identity have been dealt with. It no longer exists for them along with a pile of other human health issues.

Remember this is a different culture. It's not Earth in the 21st Century. These folks see things quite differently and most of the social convulsions of our world are far in their past. Surgically changing the sex on a being to them would be no different than ruthless vivisection on the living. Such genetic mutation can only be done on an undeveloped embryo not an adult, quite unlike the modifications necessary to change a human into a G.A.L.
