These events happened about 9,900 years ago. This comic is a compressed version of events that happened over an eighty year period.

Many scenes are recreations based on period records. Nearly all the original digital video records were lost if not actually erased. It has been pieced together for this record from audio and fragmentary scientific papers.

In this case that is why details of the developmental prototypes immediately preceding this one aren't included.

This would effectively end the femoid program. The research was finally incorporated into a series of battle suits with conventional power packs and very large cooling systems.

But wait the technology stagnates for thousands of years? Doesn't it keep increasing exponentially year by year?

It doesn't have to. Technology could plateau for thousands of years, even what to us is high technology. That seems to be the pattern from the great majority of human history. Our little technological explosion is a few centuries. Just think on this, more time separates the building of the Egyptian Pyramids from Julius Caesar than separates Julius Caesar from us. The ancient Romans built things as grand and on a scale of the pyramids and left records of how they did it so there's little mystery. Then there's Medieval Cathedrals built with mostly the same techniques. Steel and concrete is brand spanking new by comparison.

So building technology was basically piling up rocks for thousands of years until fairly recently.

So the beamer technology stagnated for a thousand years until the bracelet came along, and then it took another eight thousand years and one Grey Guy to finally assemble all the pieces in AD 1988 and make the robofemoid breakthrough.
