Gah! Almost forgot to add the usual mile-long rant! Been busy busy busy working on the latest page - so you'll have to forgive me :P

Mice! Yay! Yup, after a while of drawing everything and anything BUT the mice, I'm giving you more of Mick and Ryan than on any other page. And as a bonus, a little hypertextual reference ;) Can you recognize Spider-Man in Ryan leaping? No? Oh well, I drew it from the head, not bothering to google for reference material ;) I had fun making a reference to an other comic. Especially a superhero/action comic. After all, it is to them that ABC owes a lot of its style. Batman… Sin City… Yup! The limited color themes. Black silhouettes. And the water ripples! I stumbled upon that powerful image reading "The Killing Joke" as a ten year old kid.

And I'm starting to make backgrounds more and more detailed. Oh I drew photorealistic ones, before, but that was always with the help of a decent reference material. This time I tried to just imagine it - which has always been my Achilles heel. To imagine the layout and a whole lot of details. To populate the place with people doing… random things people do. Enjoyed this little "trek" outside the comfort zone :) Small steps, small steps - and maybe in ten years I'll be able to draw panoramas like those that Abt cranks out just like that, as his morning exercise ;)
