The Plan - Retaliation

Sorry to do this, but due to events in my actual life, I'm going to have to put this webcomic on indefinite hiatus. I have no idea when I'll get this up and running again.

In case I never get this up and going again, I'd like to thank everyone who's been keeping up with "A Step Out of Phase", it really means a lot to me that there's an audience who keeps up with this. I started this on a whim back in late 2004, and had no idea it'd keep going on this long, or that it'd be so much fun to work on. Wherever this webcomic has gone, it has gathered a fanbase, which is awesome. It's been a blast working on this webcomic for the past four and a half years, even if I never did tell all of the story. But that's what keeps the comic going, the fact that there's always something happening, there's always another mystery to solve, always another baddie to defeat.

Also, in case I never finish this, here's where I was going with the rest of this story arc: Fighter, Black Mage, and White Mage would each meet up with a member of the Task Force in their journeys, and they'd team up to beat the main boss of wherever they were. Black Mage and Crash Man would fight Bowser, Fighter and Bubble Man would fight Thunderbird (what, you really thought Fighter just defeated him?), and White Mage and Flash Man would fight Volvagia. Each duo would then meet up and join the remaining two Task Force members before going off for the final showdown against Mario (a battle that was foreshadowed by the Memories chapter).

The reformed Task Force (totaling eight characters) would take on Super Mario, and each would combine their ultimate powers, but find out that, even combined, they are no match for Super Mario, who defeats them easily. The task force then retreats and goes into hiding until they can figure out just how to defeat Mario. The task force retreats to Hyrule.

And so ends Volume One, with Volume Two picking up soon thereafter.

Anyway, there you have it, the end of Volume One. I'll probably never get around to posting Volume Two, but I have at least fifty episodes of that volume finished.

So, it's been great doing this webcomic. But, as I said, real life never unfolds as you want it to, and real life is preventing me from working on this webcomic. Thank you to everyone who's kept up with this comic, going back to The Outcasts Guild Forum, to my blog, to here. Thank you everyone. It means a lot to me.
