Woot another one down. Not going to work on any tomorrow (V-Day) for bracketed reasons. Oh lord I know it's supposed to be 1999 but I said screw it, it's not like this is going to be a perfect world.
What I'm getting at is Windows XP was released in 2001, Avatar was released in 2009, and who knows when flat screen monitors became available widely.

Fun fact: I actually wrote out an entire convo and fully edited that messenger window. Then I shrunk it and forgot what I wrote.
Well it went something like this:

James: Hey man you still working? It's the new millenium! Live a little lol

Rhally: I have lots do to plus technically its not the new millennium, that's next year.

Rhally: I think so at least.

James: Well don't say you weren't invited, and Happy new year.

Rhally: Yea..

I think I got most of that right. James is like a co-worker and closest thing to a friend our main character has, which isn't even THAT close. Oh and Rhally isn't his name.

One more fun fact, his keyboard is on his lap. *shifty eyes*
