What if you used classic art to make a sprite comic? I asked myself this question one night and came up with this. Some back story to make this maybe a bit funnier: The two main characters are Arnolfini (the guy in the hat) and Sardanapalus (the other guy). Arnolfini comes from the painting 'Arnolfini Wedding' by Jan Van Eyck. I used Arnolfini because I like his hat. I mean look at it! Sardanapalus comes from 'The Death of Sardanapalus' by Eugène Delacroix. The joke in my comic is in reference to the painting. Sardanapalus, or so it goes, was about to be beaten by a rival. Intead of letting himself lose he burned and killed anything and everything he owned or employed, thus not letting his foes get their grubby hands on his stuff. I forget where the background comes from. I think its by Turner. The final panel is 'The Raft of the Medusa' by Theodore Gericault. Basically the ship sank and the crew made a break for it, leaving the passangers to die on a crappy little raft. Created a big scandal, back in the day. I hope you've learned something here. I aim to educate. I actually made another one of these, but I'll save it for a rainy day.
