Volume I - The Magician
Xiam onA few concessions upfront:
First, the art's bad. Blame me if you wish, I don't actually have as much actually written as I'd like. As much of the story I do have developed, it's unfortunately not in SCRIPT form, which makes everything really just… lame. I'll try and have Volume I and II's scripts finished soon enough so I can pass off Volume II to someone. Likely kuroi_hitsuji, who's still shown interest in the project.
Secondly, I'm aware that the song quoted in the Alt Text is more about consumerism than anything you'll see in this volume, but… it's something, at least.
Thirdly, I uh… I don't have anything else right now. I'm going to go back to the Mel&Mac sort of thing, with a comic a day. Luckily, I'm trying out a new style that leads me to not swear and struggle for a whole day on a single page - a looser, sketchy watercolor work that has made some fairly nice artwork in the past, and I hope to pass it on here. Only the Volume covers will be in color (though this may be different for other artists, depending on how they wish to do coloring and shading and the like), but it should be fun otherwise.
The Magician has three chapters - let's hope they don't suck.
(And who is that strange man with the cape and cards? Could he be the eponymous magician?)
Incidentally… another concession. I am fully aware that the Tarot Card "The Magician" is a metaphorical one, not a literal one. Yeah, well, we'll be taking our stories both ways.
(And now you can feel free to guess at the series' plot.)
Incidentally… what do you guys think? Should I be using usernames here, or real names, for authorship and art? Because I'll be putting this stuff up on Smack Jeeves and DrunkDuck, so usernames might not work both ways. Mine does, though, so I considered slapping "Xiam" on here, but… eh, I've always had my real name thus far, so I don't know. Let me know what you guys think, since any collaborators will have their names on their respective volumes too.
Just want to know if they'd prefer pen names or birth names, haha.
Fifth concession: Ace certainly makes that pose a lot, in my drawings…
LAST THING, and this is semi-important. I like the lettering I used for "Ace Black, P.I." Should I make it into a font? I like the haphazard pseudo-typewriter look.
