This comic is slightly based on a true story. Anyone who has ever worked retail before that sells merchandise that has a rating system is familiar with the follow. A nine or ten year old boy brought Grand Theft Auto San Andres to the counter. He had his mom with him so (yeah youth hate me but I am a dad now) I asked if she was aware that this game was rated Mature. They said no but all of his friends wanted it. She then asked me why it was Mature so I told her you could pretty much pay hookers to have sx with so you could get your health back and then kill them by running them over with your car to get your cash back… The mom stopped for a moment, looked at her son, then looked at me and said "well he really wants it and so does his friends, he can have it."
It just struck me as so bizarre, I know deep down the idea of the game disurbed her but that natural instinct of a parent was somehow supressed because it clashed with her kids potential popularity. I was just kind of left stuck in a windstorm of platypus feathers.
