Two music refs on this page. It's Cassie's (slowly rebuilding) room, so I figured I should fit some in there.
Everybody probably knows the pixies already.

but Pernice Brothers are a bit more obscure. Really good…if you like insanely mellow music like I do.

Said I was going to talk about the comics I got last page, but forgot. Figured I should since the artists cover my range of influences mostly.

Parker the hunter by Darwyn Cooke - A noir as hell adaptation of a classic 60's crime novel. Some of Cooke's best art, rougher than usual with some really well placed shadow. Storytelling is brilliant, too. Really inspiring since the current issue I'm finishing up is on the darker side (24).

Heavy Liquid by Paul Pope - Paul Pope is amazing. Moving on.

Madman vol 1-3 by Mike Allred- I'm a big Allred fan, but didn't have a copy of these to call mine yet. He's got an understated yet dynamic sense of motion in his work that I really want to have in mine. The writing was interesting, too. Trippy and introspective but fun regardless.

All Star Superman vol 2 - I already like Morrison (I ignore Final Crisis. Sorry) but it took me awhile to truly appreciate Frank Quitely. As a kid everything he drew looked "ugly" to me, but it's really a special brand of cartooning that gives his characters…well…character. That, and he's a brilliant and innovative sequential storyteller. It's a shame people can't get past the "ugly" to see that.

Typed a lot. Sorry. Point is that good comics are good.
