Mall's Well That Ends Well, part 2

Okay, now, everyone who was an idiot and forgot that they had work on Tuesday, which didn’t give them time to work on the comic, which resulted in a late comic raise your hands! Alright, I hope that I am the only one who had my hand up during that rant, because I did forget my schedule, and didn’t have time to do the update for Wednesday. Oh well, what will you do?

This comic here is one of the reasons that I was really excited to do this episode. In reality, any comic where I can draw that wide-eyed-Pam expression found in the third panel is enough for me to make any strip.

Some of you might be wondering why I didn’t have a panel that showed DJ and Chris “Dog Jousting”, and I am going to take a bit to explain my reasoning behind it. There are a few different layers to this, so just stay with me.

First, the real focus of this joke is Pam’s reaction. If I have a panel that has DJ and Chris riding dogs, holding weapons to joust with, no one is going to care what expression Pam has (although this experiment could be fun).

Second, I find that leaving certain things to the reader’s imagination are necessary. By leaving the reader with their own mental image of what Dog Jousting would look like. I think that leaves it so that many readers find it funny, and not disappointed because it fails to live up to the expectations that the readers have.

Third, and most importantly, I just didn’t have the room in the strip. There is no way that I could have done the strip and had the dog jousting in there without everything being really small.

On a different note, I just found out that Mandy Moore (just about my ideal woman) did the voice of Aerith in the original Kingdom Hearts (Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II are my two favorite games)! Knowing this just makes her the coolest woman, like EVER!

PS Never use wikipedia for important things like term papers and the like. However, definitely use it to look up random video game facts! You never know what you’ll find!
