The Play's the Thing, part 4
apcomic onSorry about no update on Wednesday (although I technically only update Monday and Friday), I just wasn’t pleased with the artwork (I still am not), but oh well. I have fixed the artwork. My only issue with the artwork was DJ, and I fixed that. Anyway, we have another one of those story moving strips (strips that their real purpose is to further the story) today, although they are not my favorites, they are needed.
Now that the comic stuff is out of the way, there are three things I would like to talk about, including my review the last Harry Potter book!
First, I downloaded the Heavenly Sword demo for the ps3 today. The download took and hour and a half to download, all for only 10 minutes max of gameplay. How is the game? It’s pretty fun. Not the greatest thing ever, but I’ll pick it up and blow the dust off of my ps3 come release.
Second, we picked up the new Guitar Hero for the ps2, Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s. The game is basically everything that you would expect from a Guitar Hero game, which is a good thing. The issue that I have with the game, is that it is $50. Now, I knew that there were going to be only 30 songs, but I expected there to be a lot more done to the game. Like, I was under the impression that ALL of the characters were going to get 80s make overs. Nope, a good number are not even included. Lame. Also, they did not change anything in the actual game, really, minus everything being a different color. I was expecting more for 50 dollars, and I personally think that this should have just been a bonus disk for Guitar Hero 3. I would have gladly paid extra for GH3 if it meant getting this game.
Finally, I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I really loved it. It is in my top 2 favorites of the books, if that says anything. I do have 2 gripes about the book. First, there are some issues with pacing. In the book, either everything is happening at once, and there is super intense action sequence! or there is nothing happening. Second, there are a lot of deaths that occur, and, because of this, they are not all given the proper meaningful deaths. I understand that not everyone can get a heroes death, but it just got a little frustrating. Other than these 2 gripes, I really loved the book. It had me enthralled, and turning pages with great intensity, which is something that hasn’t really taken place since since books 3 and 4. Also, chapter 33, The Prince’s Tale, is simply magnificent. It is worth reading the book for that chapter alone, which, in my opinion, is the greatest chapter in the entire book series.
Anyway, happy weekend, and everyone remember, Wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure. Go Ravenclaw,
DJ
