Today’s comic is actually an enhanced version of an old comic of mine. For those of you who weren’t with Advanced Placement back when it was on Google Pages, the “Signs†comics were some of my favorite comics to do.
Now that the formalities are out of the way (I feel like I have to at least talk about the comic for a little bit), there are a couple things I would like to talk about.
First, Super Mario Galaxy. This game is simply amazing. I have not enjoyed playing a game this much since Wind Waker. This game really transcends the genre of 3D platformer, setting a new bar that future games are going to have a hard time reaching. The controls are wonderful, and don’t force you to be too active while playing (too many Wii games seem to thing that motion sensitive controls mean that the user has to wave around like an idiot). All in all, I could really see this game becoming my all time favorite (beating Wind Waker), but we will have to see. There are really only two issues that I have had with the game. First, I have not had enough time to play it as much as I want. Second, the entire time I am playing, I can’t help but wonder “How is Nintendo going to top this game?â€Â
The second things I want to talk about is charity. With the holidays here, I think that this is a really important time to give. Each year, each member of my family buys one of the Christmas Angels at the mall. In addition to the Christmas Angel, I am planning on donating to Child’s Play, and I would like to encourage everyone else to do so as well. For those of you who do not know, Child’s Play is a gamer’s charity that takes games and toys and donates them to children in hospitals across the country. Penny Arcade (one of the greatest gaming webcomics ever) really pushes this charity, as does VGCats (another amazing webcomic). Their goal is to try and bring some cheer children that are stuck in a hospital during the holidays. I know I have quite a few gamers who read the comic, so I thought a lot of you would find Child’s Play a good cause to give to. Regardless of where or how much you donate, I think everybody should donate to those less fortunate.
Finally, a rough update schedule for the comic. After this strip, there will not be another update until Christmas. On Christmas, we will have a special Christmas strip. This strip will be long, like the Halloween strip, so the time is needed. A few short days after Christmas (like 2), we are going to start a story arc that will celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Advanced Placement! I don’t want to give anything away about this arc, but it’s going to be big.
Anyway, good luck to everyone as this semester finishes up for others (finals and whatnot).
