I really like the idea of Fantomah having godlike cosmic powers yet still falling for the old "flaming bag full of poop" trick.

Anyways…

At first I wanted the top tier of panels and the bottom tier of panels to be seperate strips. There is a bit of a schism as they appear in here, but I think they blend together well enough.

Besides, fifteen pages is a nice round number for a storyline, right?

A couple other things changed over the course of making this strip too. I took special care to mention that Fantomah's heel was fire proof so the reader wouldn't mistake her "GAHHH!" for one of physical pain. Nothing can hurt the mighty Fantomah after all.

I also wanted to show Ridley chuckling away at Fantomah's folly along with Air Raid Robertson. The angle of my final shot, however, obligated me to hide Ridley behind the wing of the airplane. Ridley doesn't even appear in this one, the poor guy.

With this strip we say so long to Fantomah. You can see more of her in Public Domain Funnies though. And, of course. there's always the chance that she may return to the pages of Air Raid Robertson at some point. I've grown quite fond of Fantomah and wouldn't hesitate to write her in again.

And with that, we say goodbye to the first Air Raid Robertson storyline. I am immensely proud of this thing. I think it's one of the best comics I've authored, to sound somewhat immodest.

Next week you'll get something a little bit different from what I've been doing thus far.
