Air Raid Robertson

The idea for this storyline came from a quote by comic book writer Peter Milligan. It was something along the lines of "The job for a supervillain is not to conquer the world or anything like that. The job of a supervillain is to get his ass kicked by a superhero."

The thought came to me to have a very self-aware supervillain show up in Air Raid Robertson. I wanted to have a bad guy who didn't feel spiritually fulfilled unless he was out there fighting some good guy for some reason. I wanted to have a bad guy who was starving for a fight but couldn't get one.

I wasn't sure how to execute this idea until I figured that old timey Yellow Peril villains haven't been in the comic book market since the 1950's. If one of them was still around he'd have a hard time finding a protagonist since he's so racially insensitive in these modern times we live in.

And so here we are. My favorite kind of stories feature characters that, for some reason or other, are not meant for the world that they live in. They're either too weak or too strong or too dumb or too smart or too something or other. That's their tragedy. That's The Claw's tragedy.

I didn't much like this one until I colored it. Now I consider it tolerable.

Anyways, with this part out of the way we can finally get down to action parts. Everyone likes the action parts.
