It's a little weird that I consider this strip to be an adventure serial and yet it's taken twenty-five installments for actual fisticuffs to break out. As you may have guessed, the entire plot turn of this strip was an excuse for me to draw Ridley punching out Air Raid Robertson. I've been wanting to have that happen since I had a decent grasp on the characters.

I don't consider action sequences to be quite my forte, but I think this could've looked a lot worse than it actually is. Then again, I can't shake the notion that Ridley is doing the mashed potato when I look at panels three and four.

I drew the bulk of my inspiration for this sequence from the hyperkinetic flow of a Joe Simon/Jack Kirby fight scene. But, I also wanted it to have some relation to a Popeye cartoon as well. In addition to that, I wanted to have a guy fly through the air after an uppercut just like in Mortal Kombat.
