I'm a little iffy about this strip since it doesn't have a cliffhanger yet it also doesn't have a firm "ending" of sorts. Still, I wanted to use the blue spider god a little more and this sets up a couple of things for the guy. You'll be seeing more spider god in the future.

By the way, in the first panel Ridley is referencing The Hustler. The Hustler is a character study where Paul Newman plays an ace pool shark.
