I consider this page to be better drafted than the first. The panel layout is almost exactly the same as before, but I think I have a better handle on drawing the characters for this one.

The most obvious change is in how I shaded the snouts of Air Raid Arfington and Ruffley. I decided to use grey hues instead of the light brown one used in the prior strip. I find that I prefer it this way and I really wished that I had followed it from my concept sketches to begin with.

I initially laid out this story to last for three installments rather than two. It was going to emphasize the rivalry with the bears more closely. However, I couldn't really think of any solid jokes or gags for that concept.

It eventually came to me to have some Martians come out and halt the progress of both parties. The line about Earth exploration being bad for native inhabitants sprung to my mind first. The milkbone tactic came shortly afterwards.

I first used space penguins as villains for a Tiang story I drew years ago. While drafting this page I couldn't think of any new designs for the Martians. So, I recycled my old space penguin design.

The last Air Raid Arfington strip got very, very good page views. So, I am quite certain that these guys will be back sooner or later. I'm thinking of having them exist in a way similar to Itchy and Scratchy on The Simpsons. In other words, it'll have Air Raid Arfington and Ruffley going though a condensed variation on whatever it is their human counterparts are currently going through.
