Air Raid Robertson

I know that Air Raid Robertson seems to be going through a series of "milestones" lately. It was recently a featured comic on drunkduck.com and it also reached its fiftieth strip a few weeks ago.

This installment marks Air Raid Robertson's one year anniversary. It seems a bit blase considering all the stuff that's been happening with this comic lately, but I'm still glad that I've managed to keep this strip on the rails for a full fifty-two weeks.

As for the comic itself…

One of my goals for this story was to feature aviation more prominently. The first three storylines didn't have all that much airplane flying in them. This is a bit odd considering that my title protagonist is a pilot.

I absent-mindedly drew Fantomah with her skull face when I began doing this page. Not wanting to start all over again, I partially colored her face blue and threw in a remark over how she was straining to transform back into her more powerful form.

It may have started out as a way to sidestep a mistake, but I've found that I like the effect this has on the strip's narrative flow.

I also really wanted to toss in somebody exclaiming "Meep!". I felt that it's been too long.

Panel Five has an establishing shot with a brachiosaurus wading in a lake. I'm really pleased that I could fit this into the page in some way. I usually don't have the space for such a thing. And, well, if I'm going to put my characters in a Lost World then I should throw in some shots of dinosaurs.
