In my original thumbnails I noticed that I didn't have a panel where the kaiju was smashing the city up. I actually had the entire fight occuring in the sea.

And, well, how can one possibly do a kaiju story and not draw a scene where the giant monster is breathing fire and knocking down buildings? That's a sin against the renowned tradition of giant monster stories.

On this page it is apparent that Atomic Tech-Tyke, my Astro Boy analogue, is wearing Mickey Mouse shorts. Osamu Tezuka sported a rather large Disney influence in his art, so this felt right to me.
