I'm sorry this one is so late. I had some personal business. Plus, I'm having a hard time pacing the flow of this one in terms of story. I think I currently have a handle on how to put it together now, but I couldn't say the same thing last week.

The Commander and Ripley are visiting the factory of The Sunshine Makers. This was a rather disturbing cartoon from 1936 or so that I had on video as a small child. It's in the public domain, so if you haven't seen it you can probably find it on youtube.

When coming up with a solo adventure for The Commander, I thought it would be a good idea for him to be stuck in the middle of a cold war between the two villages in the cartoon. It seemed to fit well into the overall tableau of what I'm doing with this comic strip.

One more thing. The 2010 Drunk Duck Awards are going to be given away shortly. This webcomic isn't popular enough to get any nominations, but I did volunteer to present one of the awards. Air Raid Robertson and Ridley will be handing out the prize for "best dialogue", so keep an eye out for it.
