I feel a bit ashamed over how long it took for me to do a second page of this. Sure, it was only a week ago, but I've been so productive lately. I had some issues with scripting this sequence. I wasn't really sure how to make the dialogue work. For example, I went through a seemingly infinite number of variations on the PETA joke until I found one that I thought flowed correctly.

I also had problems with making the dialogue segue from one spot to the other. In particular, I struggled with the transition between Air Raid Robertson complaining about Ridley's negative attitude and Ridley inquiring about how the airplane started.


I want to take some time here to discuss my method for drawing this story. The characters and the main figures are fleshed out with prismacolor markers. The backgrounds, however, are shaded with graphite pencils.

I thought that doing this would better reflect the look of cel animation. The use of graphite pencils in particular seems to be very reflective of the look of a lot of old black and white cartoons. I saw Laura Allred take an approach like this in the most recent run of Madman and it seemed like a neat idea to try out for myself.
