Happy Free Comic Book Day, one and all. I hope you all got some nice swag from your local comics retailer.

Of course, Air Raid Robertson is free to read every day. I damn well couldn't get anyone to sift through these pages otherwise. Still, I hope I can capture the festive spirit of Free Comic Book Day with this posting.

I sat down to draft this page with the idea that I would be simply doing a bit of initial linework. It was already eleven at night, so I didn't think I'd bother with getting any further than some loose sketches.

Cut to me three and half hours later and I am finishing up the coloring job while warming up my scanner. I guess my muse decided to take possession of me. This whole process was a blur of frantic drawing soundtracked by South American funk music from the late 70's. (Thanks for the vibes, Wganda Kenya)

The image for this splash page has been nestled in my head for quite some time. It's the last of the several images I wanted to work into this storyline somewhere.
