Shirley's line about Sheol was in my notes for quite some time. It wasn't there since page one, but it's been there for a while. I don't know why, but I really like how that sentence reads. It feels good to put it up there.

I've also been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to do the reveal on this page. I really like the concept of having a protagonist's archnemesis be a needy ex who became a supervillain as a cry for attention. This was the basic plotline of Shirley McStarkiller's first appearance, but since I never posted that story to the web I'm sure this won't seem like a conceptual retread to you guys.

Well, it's possible that one of you may have picked up that story in its published appearance. However, considering that it appeared in a New England anthology comic with a print run of maybe 150 copies, I sincerely doubt it.

With that in mind, I'd like to extend kudos to the several readers who correctly guessed where I was going with Shirley and Dr. Noirish. That's some nice attention to detail, boys and girls.
