Wow, I'm already on page six? I felt like I've just started working on this story.

One of the most striking aspects of Frank Miller's Sin City is his use of occasional color. I thought it was really cool how he would place a flat color on the eyes and/or clothing of a (usually female) character in an otherwise black & white comic. It leant a great impact to their presence and served as a great narrative device. I felt obligated to include this technique in my hardboiled Air Raid Robertson story somewhere.

I'm actually getting a bit nervous about how much of the Frank Miller style I'm allowing into the story. As you can likely guess, I've been looking over my Sin City trades quite frequently while I'm working on these pages. It's important to me to reflect the art in those comics as well as I can while working on this little noir parody of mine.

Of course, I'm also trying not to turn into a plagarizing Rob Granito while I'm doing such a thing. The tightrope I'm walking is a precarious one. And yeah, it's made me nervous.
