Air Raid Robertson
on

As most of you know, this storyline draws heavily from The Maltese Falcon. However, a key difference is that, in both the novel and its film adaptations, the falcon is merely a valuable historic bauble. I was under the mistaken impression that there was more to the statue than that. I think I confused the plot of The Maltese Falcon with the plot of North by Northwest. Either way, I found the reveal at the end of the story to be a bit of a letdown as result.
So, for this spoof, I decided to make the ending a bit more similar to my mistaken expectations. Besides, I used my secret terrorist characters as the antagonists for this storyline. It would seem a bit out-of-place for a would-be world conqueror to take a personal interest in stealing a bird statue for its street value.
For the record, my earliest notes on this story included a reference to the exchange between Air Raid Robertson and Ridley over "pulling a fast one". It's not a great piece of dialogue by any means, but I had a strong compulsion to include it in here regardless.
