When I first saw The Maltese Falcon I was under the impression that there was some kind of item hidden inside the statue that the bad guys wanted. I thought it was a classified reel of microfilm or some other such thing. It turned out that I was confusing the plot of The Maltese Falcon with the plot of North by Northwest. Reading the novel confirmed my error.
As you can see, I decided to work my initial impression of The Maltese Falcon's plot into "Dames, Danger, and Dissonance". I think it beefed things up in the last third of the story.
So, with this page in the can we can all say goodbye to the storyline. The page rollout was upset by drunkduck's server move, but overall I am pleased with the reception I received for these pages. I think I learned a lot of storytelling tricks I can apply to future Air Raid Robertson yarns.
Tomorrow I am going to be posting the first page of "Rhapsody in Beige". It's a brand new arc that's also in black and white. However, this one will be coming from a much different direction than the story you just finished reading.
