This page has shifted a great deal from the "thumbnail stage" to the "finished product" stage. I knew that I wanted little bits of color to intrude into the art and I also knew what kind of expressions the characters were going to have on their faces. The details, however, kept refusing to keep firm.


Eventually, I decided to use grey markers to mark transitions between the graphite pencils and the colored markers. You'll note that this is evident in panel two and also the bottom panel. Shading Air Raid Robertson with grey markers is something that came to me while I was finishing up the page. I think it really ties the sequence together.


So, with that in mind, I'd advise all you folks to keep your mind open even when you're wrapping up a project. One never knows when a muse is going to toss you something.
