Happy Easter, my Christian readers. (Happy Sunday, to the rest of you).

You'll notice that this page is blue and green while the previous two are red and orange. I said earlier that I was interested in using color as a narrative device. In this case, I wanted to use it to imply mood. Obviously, the boxing match would be red since it's a fight scene that involves pain, adrenaline, and quick movements.

This page, however, is taking place during the cool-down after the fight is over.

I decided not to depict the actual end of the fight for a couple of reasons. Keeping things concise is one, but another one comes from a reading of The Cherry Orchard. One of the reasons that Anton Chekhov is so renowned is because his narratives were so unconventional for their time. For example, he would frequently have the integral plot points of his stories occur outside of the depicted occurrences.

This may confuse some, but it brought a lot of subtext to Chekhov's work. The events themselves were not as important as the reactions and the decisions that the characters made on account of them. Omitting the event itself helps to emphasize this.

I don't think it really matters how Ridley lost his fight against Jimmy the Bear Strangler. What Ridley goes through because of this loss, however, is quite important to this storyline.
