Interlude II: Of Things Yet to Come; Page 10

I've been so busy with applying for jobs and interviews that I almost forgot about this week's update, but here it is, right on time as always.

So it seems that the deadly Sarasan virus is capable of transmitting through any form of direct contact, including through the skin, something which is somewhat unusual but not too uncommon in all viruses, as most can be carried on the skin but can't actually benetrate the skin cell layers, and have to come into contact with the mucus membrane in, say, the eyes or the nose or mouth in order to actually enter the body, or through an open wounds of some sort, or through the lungs or digestive tracts via contact with airborne or fluid-borne vectors. So it seems all it takes is coming into contact with an infected person or contaminated object to pass it on. However, it seems that it's incapable of spreading for long distances via air or through insect vectors (i.e., mosquitoes and biting flies), which alone, when you think about it, doesn't explain how it's been able to spread as quickly as it has. Will our scientists figure it out in time and find a solution? Just wait and see.

Anyway, I had a rather successful series of job interviews earlier this week, so hopefully I'll be rejoining the workforce again before too long.

Until next time, this is All Saints, here on DD!
