Do we recognize the birdy?
In case you missed my thoughts on sunlight burnt vampires in the comments of last week, here you are again:
Orlok did not burn in the sunlight; he instantly disintegrated in a puff smoke (no fire at all). Vampires in Buffy the Vampire slayer catch on fire.
In old lore (predating the Bram Stoker novel), the accounts vary; sometimes vampires catch on fire and other times they are severely weakened by sunlight. One of the was you could tell if a person was a vampire in the old days was if they were very lethargic in the daytime (never mind that it could have just been from lack of sleep).
