Far be it from me to talk about the one subject I ever failed in high school (not that Mr. Sutton didn't give it his best shot), but then again amateur economists are suddenly all the rage (just as amateur generals were all the rage–and filled WITH rage–when terrorism and al-Quaeda were what filled the headlines), so whatever. You certainly don't need to be an expert to come to the conclusion that giving away billions of dollars with no oversight whatsoever is beyond the realm of criminally insane. (Which realm it actually IS in, I'm not completely sure, though my best guess is that it's somewhere in the realm of "YOU BRAINDEAD JACKASSES!!!!!"

Does anyone else miss the days when they passively assumed that Those In Charge actually had some idea of what they were doing?
