I've never been able to understand how some mothers cannot feel attachment to their children or abandon them to die. I can't understand what would make a woman do that. I've heard of mothers steal back children they've put out for adoption. I've heard of mothers whom, just after putting their newborn in a trashcan, pull them right back out as if nothing happened. I've heard of women who've done terrible things to their own children with no remorse and it just escapes me how or why.
There is a bond between a mother and her child. This bond causes the mother to care for and protect the child, and later in life for the child to return the favor when the mother grows old. When one dies, the sadness and depression are undescribable. No matter who you are, whether you feel it or not, this bond is there. I suppose this was the message I wanted to convey in this comic, but ended up summing it up in rikti talk in the very end.
