A note from Josh Eiserike, the writer and my main compadre:

Hey all, I hope you've enjoyed the first issue of "Anyone But Virginia." I know Zac and I have had a blast telling the story of Virginia Patterson– and, as they say, "you ain't seen nothin' yet." What's such a joy about going back to these early issues (ultimately it's a five-issue mini series) is you can really see how Zac's art and my writing has evolved. This page is a good example of where my writing has certainly evolved. Looking back through the first issue there's barely any indication that Virginia was class VP. It's in her yearbook, but that's it. As a writer today I know that I didn't service the cliff hanger as much as I should have. Likewise, the cliff hanger to issue 2 (one of my favorite moments in the entire series) could have been set up in this issue as well. But it's a live, learn and gain experience kind of thing. Still, I think Zac has done a phenomenal job bringing my characters– many of whom I've lived with for the past ten years– to life. I can't think of any other artist who could really capture the nuance and emotion of this story. So come back next week when we'll kick off issue 2… and I hope you continue to read and enjoy the story of Virginia Patterson!
