So after smacking people with a shovel Mat would throw them in his coffin. He'd leave them there and ignore them, at first they'd think it was a joke, but he'd leave them in there and ignore their statements of "hahaha, this is funny, I'm ready to go now or ha ha ha, you've had a laugh, I'd like to go, please" and continue this until they'd be slamming on the coffin door and pleading with him to let them out. After a few minutes of that, while other passers by would take a picture, thinking it was part of the act, he'd let them out and they would run, every time.
