Ok, if you're just joining us, here's the deal with Doyle (and the second Doyle in the 3rd panel): Doctor Hubris created a device capable of creating a quantum duplicate - essentially a perfect copy - of anything. It was actually supposed to be used to make photocopies, but Doyle (his usual lab intern) got into it first and was infused with the ability to make duplicates of himself whenever the need arose.

And since Hubris has a tendency to kill his test subjects… not through malice but through apathy towards their continued breathing… a lab assistant and test subject who could endlessly replace himself was ideal.

The problem is that each time Doyle duplicates, each Doyle is as real and unique as the original - there's no hive mind or anything like that, they can't "absorb" back in or anything like that… and so if Hubris (or Doyle's own natural clumsiness) don't do the Doyle duplicates in, they continue to exist. That's what's happened here.

The Second Doyle was split off from the original (if there is really an original, which arguably there isn't) nearly a year ago. He's appeared several times over on AoD, hosting (with Horn) a recurring sub-comic called Cinematic For The People, and is just sort of… living his own life.

And now, stealing Doyle Prime's car.
