Yeah, had a bit of a scare this week with my car. A valve that leads into the carburetor came undone. This valve sucks fumes out of the engine and shoots them into the carb, keeping the pressure, fuel and air mixture all correct. When this valve slips off the car won't idle more it spews white smoke out of every orifice it has as well as into the cab via the A/C vents. This was leading onlookers to think that your car is on fire underneath the hood. So when you pull into a gas station they run over fire extinguisher in hand. I thought my car was fucked which would mean I would then be vicariously fucked. Fortunately it was just a matter of reconnecting the hose. Then reconnecting it again as my landlord came to check it out and "help" and ended up fucking it up again. Plus it's supposed to go underneath the throttle as apposed to above. Which was the reason it came off the first time. So now all is corrected and I'm back to getting my 8 miles to the gallon where as when this was occuring I was getting about 700 feet to the gallon.
